Rock Band Roadie - Flash Game Review

Description: Get your band's gear to the stage on time!

Pros: The concept definitely made me smile, graphics are snappy, music is appropriate, controls are responsive.

Cons: Once the novelty wore off, the gameplay didn't keep me interested, your car can get wedged in between objects on some levels, not enough variety.

Final Thoughts: Give Rock Band Roadie a try because it's a funny little game. I wish they had spent less time on cutscenes (which I usually skip in any game) and more time on new vehicles, upgrades, items, etc.

Raft Wars - Flash Game Review

Description: Lob tennis balls at angry boaters who are trying to sink your rafts.

Pros: Graphics are fun (although a tad on the 'cutesy' side), the enemy types are amusing.

Cons: Gets old pretty fast, the music is cheesy, not enough weapon types and upgrades, the hit detection can be flaky.

Final Thoughts: Raft Wars follows in the footsteps of games like Scorched Earth and Worms and doesn't do anything to improve the genre. Raft Wars' presentation is a tad over the top and is more annoying than funny. If you have 5-10 minutes to kill, you can consider giving it a try.

The Mind Bender - Flash Game Review

Description: Use your mind to move boxes as you run and jump through this platformer.

Pros: Elegant in its simplicity, calming music, interesting stages, running and jumping is easy to control.

Cons: Controlling the boxes sometimes gets frustrating because of the way they bounce and are affected by gravity, the character occasionally clips through walls which usually results in death.

Final Thoughts: Mind Bender is a game with a simple concept which is nicely executed. The atmosphere created by Mind Bender is calming and makes for an enjoyable experience.

Cannon Chaos - Flash Game Review

Description: Man your cannon and fight off tanks in this click-fest base defense game.

Pros: Cannon Chaos is a good game to play if you like to click a lot, upgrades add an addictive element to the game, the music (ripped from C&C: Generals) adds to the game the first three or four times it loops.

Cons: Clicking gets boring, no in-game cross hair (just the ugly pointer), enemies don't feel all that unique, graphics are bland, each wave feels the same as the last one.

Final Thoughts: I was looking for a base defense game to wash away my memories of Flash Empires (which I reviewed yesterday). Cannon Chaos is a middle-of-the-road base defense game which doesn't bring much to the genre but also doesn't completely suck. It might be fun to play if you like to upgrade things.
